College and University Transfer Admissions

At Greenhaus College Consulting, we work with students to help them identify their best-fit transfer schools and guide them through the admissions process so they have the best chance of admission.

The transfer admissions process can take about 3-6 months from start to finish, depending on when you decide to transfer, the number of units you have completed, and how prepared you are when you meet with us at the initial consultation. The Transfer deadline for the spring semester is usually October 1, and colleges will request Advising the student on new coursework they will need in order to apply as a transfer student Working on a student resume to highlight skills and extracurriculars Assistance with the Transfer Applications Helping the student to identify some good essay topics that explain their reasons for transfer and their future goals Essay editing for specific topics relating to students major the student’s fall grades in December. The transfer deadline for the fall semester is generally between January 1-March 1, depending on the college.

In most cases, students will receive general education transfer credits and credit for upper division units that pertain to the student’s major. It will be essential to check with each institution before completing an application. We direct our students to attend various transfer sessions on campus and virtually.

Transfer application deadlines are usually from Jan -March for admittance to the following fall semester; however, deadlines can vary by institution. For spring admits the deadline is usually around October 1. It’s crucial to research transfer application deadlines when creating your transfer application strategy. Students will need to have all of their documents in place in order for their application to be complete. This includes letters of recommendation, transcripts, resume, and a completed application. You can transfer at any point in your undergraduate career; however, most students will transfer within the first year of college.
