Understanding Transfer Admissions
Transfer admission is the process of a current undergraduate student applying to transfer to a four-year university from a two-year college or another four-year university. The transfer admissions process is unique and has different academic requirements and prerequisites depending on the student’s intended college major. The colleges will request a high school transcript if the student has completed minimal units. A few things to keep in mind:
Eligibility Criteria: Different colleges and universities have specific criteria for transfer students. These criteria often include a minimum number of completed college credits, a competitive GPA, and sometimes specific course requirements that need to be met before transferring.
Admission Selectivity: Some colleges have limited space for transfer students, making the transfer admissions process quite competitive. Transfer acceptance rates can also vary based on the institution and specific program of study.
At Greenhaus College Consulting, we work with students to help them identify their best-fit transfer schools and guide them through the admissions process so they have the best chance of admission.
